Welcome to the May-June edition of People & Management!
Albert Einstein said, “The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious
- the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science.”
True to this wisdom, business leaders today are redefi ning the way a fast paced wired
world is linked to their human variables; driven by emotions and with organisation
goals.
One of the major challenges that business leaders are faced with today is
how technology could simplify the HR process, and enhance interactivity among
employees and leaders. However, a scientifi c approach shows that the data and
facts based methods can bring insights of HR fi elds to bear on the practical issues
confronting organisation leaders and employees.
However, for HR to become a true decision science, it must do more than just
incorporate facts and numbers. Usually, decision science for talent is to be drawn from
the vast collection of research about human behaviour at work and how organisations
can better compete with talent. On behalf of the organisation, HR managers must
represent the quantitative methods and serve as a gateway for employees in various
verticals so that they may choose their way to perform, fi le their issues and seek
their demands.
Therefore, the future of HR function is to focus on the use of sophisticated
techniques and statistical methods to access talent as well as link organisational goals.
When HR processes are carefully aligned with powerful and logical frameworks, these
may not only track the usefulness of talent policies and practices, but also actually
aid the organisation leaders how to use the measurement systems to make decisions.
The May-June issue gives you an insight on how science (scientifi c approach and
methods) can help leaders in making decisions on human capital while infl uencing the
whole yard. We bring to you the views of HR professionals, management personnel,
CEOs and academicians, to provide insights into practised HR tools and processes.
We trust you enjoy this issue on Science of HR, as much as we enjoyed putting
it together!

Reader - Speak
What Our esteemed readers
say... |
|
I came across People and Management last
year. The following caught my interest:-
(a) The Articles and their content.
(b) The presentation-print and paper
quality.
(c) Apt layout i.e., the sequencing.
I sent in my subscription straightaway.
Being a person dealing with Corporate HR, the material was
firstly reader friendly - makes interesting reading & not very
difficult and secondly professionally interesting for
application.
The magazine continued getting better with each issue in fact
the waiting period for the next issue is rather long - my demand
may be taxing on the editorial staff but you can consider making
it a monthly magazine.
